Griffith University Courses

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Catchment Science, an applicant must have:

• hold a related Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognised University (or another tertiary institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale) and at least one year of professional experience OR
• hold a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Catchment Hydrology OR
• hold a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Catchment Processes.

Students admitted to this degree program with a Graduate Certificate in Catchment Hydrology or Graduate Certificate in Catchment Processes will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing towards the Masters.

Consideration for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Suicidology program will be given to those candidates who have:

• completed a Bachelor degree in any discipline
• OR a health or social sciences-related Diploma or Certificate IV VET/TAFE qualification plus two years relevant work experience.

While the Master of Primary Maternity Care is mainly designed for registered midwives, it is also available to other health professionals in the maternity services sector.

All applicants seeking to undertake the Master of Primary Maternity Care must hold:

• a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in a suitable professional health practice discipline such as midwifery, medicine, nursing or social work from a recognised tertiary institution with a GPA of 4.0 or above
• OR a Graduate Certificate in Primary Maternity Care from Griffith University (students will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing and will be required to complete 80 credit points in the program).

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Policy Analysis, a student must:

• hold any Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.5 (using a 7.0 scale) OR
• have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field or with the public sector OR
• have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to either of the above.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Climate Change Adaptation, a student must:

• hold a Bachelor degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.5 (using a 7.0 point scale)
• OR have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time relevant work experience.

To apply for admission into the Master of Advanced Health Services Management, a student should:

• hold a suitable Bachelor degree in a related field (Public Health, Health Services Management, Environmental Health, Allied Health, Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Clinical, Research and Biomedical Health)
• OR hold a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Bachelor Honours degree in a related field (Public Health; Health Services Management; Environmental Health; Allied Health, Medicine, Nursing, Psychology, Clinical, Research and Biomedical Health) - students will be eligible for admission with advanced standing to complete a 120 credit point Masters
• OR have completed one of the following Griffith Graduate Certificates*:
• Graduate Certificate in Digital Health (3336)
• Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management (3082) or Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management (3317)
• Graduate Certificate in Clinical Leadership (3280)

* Students applying for admission via this pathway may be eligible for Advanced Standing or specified credit of up to 40 credit points depending on courses completed in the Griffith Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management program. Credit applications for other Graduate Certificate programs are assessed individually and will require assessment of similarity in learning outcomes.

Applicants with extensive experience in health services management positions who do not hold such qualifications as listed in the requirements above may apply for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Health Services Management, Graduate Certificate in Digital Health or Graduate Certificate in Clinical Leadership with progression to the Master of Advanced Health Services Management being dependent on a minimum pass grade in all courses.

Students who have graduated with the Master of Health Services Management (120 credit points) award are not eligible for admission to the Master of Advanced Health Services Management.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Biotechnology, an applicant must have:

• a related Bachelor or Bachelor (Honours) degree with a GPA of 4.5 or higher.

Applicants for this program must have a Bachelor degree with at least Honours 2B or an equivalent postgraduate qualification.

The following University policy will apply to Higher Degree Research (HDR) programs:

The formal admission requirements for this program are as follows:

• a recognised Bachelor degree with a suitable class of research honours (not less than an upper second) or its equivalent as determined by the Dean, Griffith Graduate Research School and professional engagement pertinent to the degree over a period totalling not less than three years.

To provide evidence for establishing equivalence, applicants are asked to complete a professional portfolio (using the template provided by the school) which is to be submitted with the appropriate supporting documentation appended.

Applicants wishing to commence in Research Intake 1 should lodge their application prior to the closing date listed at the top of this page. Applicants applying to commence at any other time should submit their application at least four months before their preferred intake date. Refer to the Scholarship Key Dates for further information.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Professional Accounting, an applicant must:

• hold a Bachelor degree (or equivalent) from a recognized University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 point scale)
• OR have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field.

Completion of this Graduate Certificate is a pathway into the Masters of Professional Accounting, where applicants may be eligible for 40 credit points of credit.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Cyber Security, an applicant must:

• hold any Bachelor degree (or equivalent) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 point scale)
• OR hold a relevant Graduate Certificate from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 point scale).

Students admitted with a Bachelor or Bachelor Honours degree in Information Technology or Computer Science or equivalent will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing towards the program.

Students admitted with the Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security (3350) or Graduate Certificate in Business Cyber Security (3351) or Graduate Certificate in Cyber Crime (3352) or Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics and Cyber Security (3378) will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing towards the program.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Rehabilitation Counselling, an applicant must have completed:

• a Bachelor degree from an allied health field such as vocational rehabilitation, psychology, exercise science, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, occupational health nursing, human services, social work, industrial relations, human resource management, occupational health and safety and successful interview with the Program Director
• OR a Bachelor Honours degree, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters from a different discipline area and successful interview with the Program Director
• OR the Graduate Certificate in Case Management (3050) or a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma qualification in an allied health field such as vocational rehabilitation, psychology, exercise science physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, occupational health nursing, human services, social work, industrial relations, human resource management, occupational health and safety with a GPA of at least 5.0 and successful interview with the Program Director (successful applicants will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing).
