If you were not born in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa or United States of America, you are required to meet the English Language Proficiency requirements set by the University.

Applicants are required to provide evidence of completion of:

• A secondary qualification (Year 11 and 12, or equivalent), or
• An Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) diploma level qualification, or
• Bachelor level qualification study for a period of at least 2 years fulltime with a minimum overall GPA 4.0

completed within Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, South Africa, Ireland, or United States of America, which will meet the English proficiency.

If you do not satisfy any of the above, you will need to undertake an English language proficiency test and achieve the following scores:

• An International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) overall band score of at least 6.0 with a minimum 5.5 in each subset; or
• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) - Requires 550 or better overall and minimum TWE score of 4.5 (Paper Based Test), or 75 or better overall and no score less than 17 (Internet Based Test); or
• Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic) - Requires an overall score of 54 with no sub-score less than 46; or
• An Occupational English Test with Grades A or B only in each of the four components.

English test results remain valid for no more than two years between final examination date and the date of commencement of study, and must appear on a single result certificate.

Security RequirementsCourse years 2 - 4 include periods of clinical placement. Students must satisfy specific pre-clinical safety and security requirements prior to each placement and must disclose any condition that may put himself or herself, or the public, at significant risk whilst on placement. Students are required to meet all mandatory requirements to attend Clinical Placements and Clinical placements are a requirement for the award of the Degree. A student may be determined ineligible for placement based on the inability to perform required tasks or if the student may be determined a risk to clients, staff or other stakeholders. A student may be determined ineligible for placement if the placement site is unable to work within the constraints of any conditions or work modifications placed upon the work site by the State Health Department or Assessment Unit within a private organisation. If conditions imposed upon the placement are too restrictive for placement sites within the current offer round, the student is determined not fit for placement and is at risk of the University terminating enrolment in the degree. • Current employment in maintenance engineering/maintenance/asset management; and
• An associate diploma or degree in engineering, technology or applied science OR
• an industry background, a trade qualification and demonstrated competence in the field of maintenance engineering/maintenance/asset management, with either:-
  • minimum 3 years relevant maintenance/asset management experience; OR
  • minimum 5 years relevant experience in maintenance engineering.

Notes:

1. Trade qualified applicants will be enrolled in the Graduate Certificate in Asset and Maintenance Management and will be allowed to progress to the Graduate Diploma of Asset and Maintenance Management only after they have successfully completed the Graduate Certificate.

2. Applicants who do not satisfy all of the above eligibility criteria but are currently employed in an industrial organisation in a maintenance engineering or asset/maintenance management-related role and have the support of their organisation, can apply and will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

As a part of this course, students will undertake clinical placements. To participate in clinical placements, students will require a range of documentation (e.g., Criminal Police Check); this documentation varies depending on the type of placement site as different organisations / placement sites have different requirements. As a part of this course, students will undertake clinical placements. To participate in clinical placements students require a range of immunisations, vaccinations, and screenings (e.g., Hepatitis B; tuberculosis screening). • A completed Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) Bachelor degree, or higher equivalent qualification; or
• A completed AQF Diploma with two years relevant* business experience, or
• Five years relevant business* or managerial experience.

*Relevant business or managerial experience includes a working knowledge of how a business operates, for example, budgeting, staffing, project management, financial reporting, process management, or human resources.

Professional experience must be shown in a letter of employment which is presented on a company letterhead as well as signed and dated by a delegated authority. The letter must contain position title, duties performed and length of service.
