Applicants for admission to the Master of Leadership and Management (Policing and Security) degree:

• Hold an undergraduate degree in a related area, or have qualified for an equivalent award
• OR have completed the requirements of the Graduate Diploma in Leadership and Management (Policing and Security) or subjects deemed equivalent by the Course Director.

Applicants for admission to the Executive Masters in International Police Leadership:

• Hold an undergraduate degree in a related area, or have qualified for an equivalent award
• OR have completed the requirements of the Canadian Police College Executive Development Program, or equivalent program as approved by the Course Director.

Additionally, a number of police jurisdictions have credit arrangements with the Australian Graduate School of Policing and Security, and prospective applicants should discuss these with the Course Director.

Entry requirements

An applicant for admission to the degree of Master of Education (with specialisation) must have at least the following minimum qualifications:

• A Bachelor of Education (Honours) (AQF Level 8) or equivalent from an approved tertiary institution, and at least one year of professional experience in a relevant field; or
• A Bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) and a Graduate Diploma (AQF Level 8) in teaching, education, or a related field, and at least one year of professional experience in a relevant field; or
• Qualifications and/or professional experience deemed equivalent under the AQF, with completion of any additional qualifying subjects or courses as prescribed by the Faculty.

Applicants for admission must be employed in a leadership or management role (policing, security, or private sector), and have one of the following:

• An undergraduate degree or equivalent in a relevant and related field.
• An unrelated undergraduate degree or equivalent, together with at least 5 years experience in policing or security.
• Successful completion of the Graduate Certificate in Leadership and Management (Policing and Security).

Students must have completed an Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) accredited qualification, such as a Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work (Professional Qualifying) or, for international students, an equivalent qualification that confers eligibility to practise as a registered or accredited social worker in their own country.

Admission to the course is based on meeting the following criteria:

• Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency registration as a Registered Nurse
• Contract with an approved, participating hospital as a student midwife at 0.6-0.8 full-time equivalent (FTE) for the duration of the course

It is a requirement of this course that students have a current employment contract. If a student's employment contract has expired and they have not completed the clinical subject of MID448 it is the responsibility of the student to have their contract extended to enable completion of this subject.

Students may still undertake their theory subjects if their contract has expired only if they have successfully passed MID448 and have completed all clinical competencies.

Applicants are required to have an undergraduate degree from a recognised Australian tertiary institution (or equivalent).

Applicants without a bachelor degree may be admitted to the Graduate Certificate in Applied Business or the Graduate Diploma of Applied Business on the basis of professional attainment and/or work experience. Upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma, students will be eligible for admission to the Master of Applied Business and receive credit for applicable subjects.

For entry to this course, students must hold a bachelor's degree in nursing (or equivalent) and be registered to practice with Ahpra or an equivalent National registration body. A minimum of 12 months of clinical experience in the nursing field post-undergraduate qualification is a requirement for admission to this course.

Applicants must have, and provide evidence of, 12 months experience as a registered nurse (RN) before session commences. This evidence must be your Statement of Service or an Official Letter from your employer showing hours completed. A copy of your Resume / CV is not acceptable.

Intending students should also be aware that to undertake the practicum subjects they will be required to comply with the risk management policies and procedures of the host ambulance authority. Students must be able to attend intensive schools associated with three subjects.

Entry requirements

A completed Bachelors Degree (or Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) equivalent) in a relevant discipline related to Ornithology from a recognised University or other tertiary education provider.

OR

Relevant industry or professional Ornithology experience of at least five years, demonstrated by a detailed resume.

Applicants must be employed in an investigations role (police or private sector), and have one of the following:

• An undergraduate degree in a relevant field
• Five years or more as a police officer, with associated in-service training
• Five years or more non-police investigations experience, with associated professional training
