The Master of Pharmacy (International) is an accredited three-year graduate-entry degree leading to eligibility for registration as a pharmacist. The course is an Australian first, extending the Master of Pharmacy (C04252) program to include a one-year overseas clinical placement.
This course is intended for registered pharmacists, or students who have completed a registrable pharmacy degree, and wish to pursue a career in pharmacy research or gain a competitive advantage in their career by completing an additional postgraduate qualification.
The Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences (Research) is intended for students who have completed a relevant degree in science or wish to pursue a career in pharmaceutical sciences research or gain a competitive advantage in their career by completing an additional postgraduate qualification.
This course provides students with the skills, knowledge and insights to make a meaningful contribution and difference to medicines and medical devices research, development and access, improving the health and wellbeing of individuals.

a medical degree from the University of Sydney or equivalent qualification.
The Master of Pharmacy offers an entry pathway to fast-track your career into the pharmacy profession. This course is an accredited and innovative coursework program designed to prepare you for all aspects of the pharmacy profession, including leadership in innovative and evidence-based practice.
Entry Requirements
To be eligible to apply for the Master of Pharmacy applicants will need to fulfill the following criteria:
A bachelor's degree from an Australian institution or equivalent
A minimum Grade Point Average (GPA), currently 5.0 over 7.0 (equivalent to 65% at USYD), or Graduate Australian Medical Admissions Test (GAMSAT), currently 55 with 50 in each section, or Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), currently 8 (previous test version) / 500 (new test version).
48 credit points, or equivalent, in six prerequisite subjects at university level (see below)
English language proficiency of IELTS 7.0 overall with 6.5 in each band (if relevant)
Admission pathway
Course transfers from current Master of Pharmacy programs across Australia will be considered. Subject exemptions are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
International pharmacy graduates with registration from outside of Australia are accepted provided pharmacy registration has been within the last ten years. It is not a requirement to have a GPA, MCAT or GAMSAT for this application.
Applicants with relevant professional experience (eg pharmaceutical industry or related research area) within the last ten years will be considered on a case-by-case basis. It is not a requirement to have a GPA, MCAT or GAMSAT for this application.

Entry Requirements
Admission to the Master of Science in Medicine (Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Development) requires:
successful completion of an embedded degree program (graduate certificate or graduate diploma) with a minimum credit average; or
a bachelor degree in a health or science-related discipline with honours; or
a bachelor degree plus a postgraduate degree in a health or science-related discipline; or
a pass bachelor degree in a health or science-related discpline plus a minimum of 12 months relevant work experience.

completion of the requirements for the Master of Medicine (Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Development); and
an average mark of at least 75% in 24 credit points of compulsory and/or stream units of study; and
any other requirements as stated by the Faculty at the time of application.
