About The University of Western Australia (UWA)

Established in 1911, UWA is one of the top 100 universities in the world, and the first to be founded in Western Australia. We have earned an international reputation for high-calibre teaching and learning, and our focus on research attracts the finest minds from around the globe. We’re part of the Group of Eight (a coalition of the top research universities in the country) and one of only two Australian members of the Worldwide Universities Network.

Our well-established network of industry partners allows students to connect with professionals in their chosen fields, providing one-on-one advice and the chance to develop skills in real-world scenarios. Other work placements and volunteering opportunities can be arranged as part of our degrees, and we also offer student exchanges with 180 universities in 30 countries.

UWA’s main Perth campus is often described as one of Australia’s most picturesque. Just 10 minutes from Perth’s main shopping and business district, it’s also close to many stunning beaches. Our dynamic cultural scene draws the community to our galleries, museums and theatres, and our Student Guild is one of the most active in Australia, providing independent advice to students and organising countless activities, with more than 180 student clubs.
