You must have a professional health degree or equivalent qualification and registered with your professional registering authority. To enrol for the master program, you must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Clinical Leadership (Aspiring Leaders) applicants must also meet the following specific requirements.

The program will be available to students who have a previous Nursing degree or equivalent; or; who have a previous allied health degree or professional equivalence.

The program is open to you if you are a Registered Nurse who has a previous degree or you have accumulated a wealth of experience in nursing but do not have a degree.

You must be able to demonstrate two years of full-time secondary, vocational or tertiary level of study in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or the United States of America. If you do not meet these requirements you will need to sit the Academic IELTS exam and achieve a score of at least 7.0 overall and 7.0 in each sub-section (reading, writing, listening and speaking) to qualify for entry into the Master of Nursing (Clinical Nursing). This applies to Permanent Residents and Australian citizens whose first language is not English and have not completed two years full-time academic study in Australia. IELTS results will need to be verified by the Admissions Office before an offer of a place can be made. The Admissions Office reserves the right to ask for IELTS results from any applicant. Specific program requirements for admission are dependent on which pathway into the Program you require.

The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia determines the eligibility to undertake a Re-entry or Bridging program.

• All applicants must have a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
• Applicants for 'Re-entry' or 'Bridging' pathways must have a valid AHPRA referral letter; the letter must be valid for the duration of the program and an additional 4 weeks following completion
• Applicants must provide evidence of meeting the English language proficiency* requirements for postgraduate degrees
• All applicants must have a valid national police certificate and criminal record screening check
• Non Australian citizens are required to provide a criminal record check from country of origin and any country resided in after the age of 16
• International applicants must hold a valid Australian visa until course completion

If unable to provide a Police Certificate from your home country or any country you have resided in since turning 16 years of age, a Statutory Declaration must be completed. This Declaration must state that you have no pending criminal charges or convictions from your home country or any country that you have resided in. If you do have such records, you must list date of any offences, the type of offence and the court outcome.

Applicants must provide evidence of meeting the English language proficiency requirements for postgraduate degrees. Applicants must also meet the English language skills registration standard set out by NMBA.

The program is open to Registered Nurses who have a previous degree, or to those who do not have a degree but who have accumulated a wealth of experience in nursing.

English Language Requirements

The program is open to you if you are a Registered Nurse who has a previous degree in Nursing or equivalent, and have a minimum of one-year relevant post-registration nursing experience.

The following entry requirements apply to this program:

• Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia or provisional registration, whichever is applicable at the time of commencement
• Nursing or other appropriate degree or the equivalent

• A Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in a health professional field
• Active involvement in health professional education
