The University of Notre Dame Australia Courses

The following entry requirements apply to this program:

• Be midwives previously registered in Australia
• Provide an approved NMBA registration for re-entry to the practice program. The registration must be valid for the duration of the program and an additional 4 weeks following completion
• Meet inherent requirements for midwifery professional practice
• Meet the English requirements for this program: IELTS Academic score of 7.0
• Have a valid criminal record check and apply for a Working with Children Check (WA & NSW)
• Provide a record of immunisation, and provide evidence that they meet the NSW Ministry of Health or WA Department of Health immunisation requirements

The program will be available to students who have a previous Nursing degree or equivalent; or; who have a previous allied health degree or professional equivalence.

Specific Program Requirements for Admission

A student applying for the Graduate Diploma in Sport Coaching and Educational Leadership must:

• Hold a Bachelor-Level Qualification in an Education or Related Field or;
• Hold a Bachelor-Level Qualification in any field and a Postgraduate Qualification in an Education or Related Field

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Education (Special and Inclusive Education) applicants must also meet the following specific requirements:

• Be eligible for teacher registration in Australia; and either
• Successfully complete the University of Notre Dame Australia Graduate Certificate of Education (Special and Inclusive Education) or equivalent; or
• Have at least two years of full-time professional experience in either a primary or secondary school setting.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Religious Education applicants must also meet the following specific requirements:

• Be eligible for teacher registration in Australia; and either
• Successfully complete the University of Notre Dame Australia Graduate Certificate of Religious Education or equivalent; or
• Have at least two years of full-time professional experience in either a primary or secondary school setting.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Education applicants must also meet the following specific requirements:

• Be eligible for teacher registration in Australia; and either
• Successfully complete the University of Notre Dame Australia Graduate Certificate of Education (Special and Inclusive Education) or equivalent; or
• Have at least two years of full-time professional experience in either a primary or secondary school setting.

You must have a professional health degree or equivalent qualification and registered with your professional registering authority. To enrol for the master program, you must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

To be eligible you must have current registration to practise as a registered nurse, or be a practitioner with an Australian regulatory authority or full membership of an appropriate Australian or Professional organisation.

English Language Requirements

You must be able to demonstrate two years of full-time secondary, vocational or tertiary level of study in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom or the United States of America. If you do not meet these requirements you will need to sit the Academic IELTS exam and achieve a score of at least 7.0 overall and 7.0 in each sub-section (reading, writing, listening and speaking) to qualify for entry into the Graduate Certificate in Mental Health Nursing and Allied Health. This applies to Permanent Residents and Australian citizens whose first language is not English and have not completed two years full-time academic study in Australia. IELTS results will need to be verified by the Admissions Office before an offer of a place can be made. The Admissions Office reserves the right to ask for IELTS results from any applicant. To be eligible for admission to the Master of Learning and Teaching in Higher Education applicants must meet the following specific requirements:

• Possession of a Bachelor's award (AQF level 7 qualification) in any discipline area OR
• Possession of a Graduate Diploma (AQF level 8 qualification) or equivalent in learning and teaching for higher education

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Health Leadership, applicants must meet the following specific requirements:

• As a minimum qualification, a recognised Bachelor degree in a health profession; or
• A Bachelor degree in another (non-health) area with evidence of specific professional experience in health; or
• Evidence of a senior management or leadership role in the health sector.
