Griffith University Courses

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Finance, a student must:

• hold any Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale) OR
• hold a Bachelor degree in finance (or equivalent) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale) - students will receive 40 credit points of advanced standing OR
• hold any Bachelor degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 AND have successfully passed the Level I examination for the Chartered Financial Analyst Program administered by the CFA Institute - students will receive 40 credit points of advanced standing.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in International Law, applicants must have:

• any Bachelor degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 point scale)
• OR a minimum of five years equivalent full-time professional work experience in a relevant field.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Marketing/Master of International Business, a student must hold:

• a related Bachelor degree (or equivalent) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale); OR
• a related Graduate Certificate (or equivalent) from a recognised University (or another tertiary institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale).

To be eligible for admission to the Master of International Business, a student must:

• hold a related Bachelor degree or Graduate Certificate (or higher) from a recognised university (or another tertiary institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 point scale), OR
• hold a Griffith Graduate Certificate in International Business (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale) - students will receive 40 credit points of credit; OR
• have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to the above.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Urban and Environmental Planning, a student must:

• hold a Bachelor degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing). Planning related Bachelor degrees will be assessed by the Program Director to determine whether the degree is appropriate for admission
• OR have a minimum of five years equivalent full-time relevant work experience.

Students who have completed the Graduate Certificate in Urban and Environmental Planning with a minimum grade point average of 4.5 will be eligible for admission to the Master of Urban and Environmental Planning. These students will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing.

To be eligible for admission to this Graduate Certificate program, applicants must have:

• a bachelors degree (or equivalent) and preferably with full-time teaching experience.

For admission to the Doctor of Clinical Dentistry, Australian and New Zealand applicants must:

• hold a Bachelor degree in Dentistry or equivalent (five year program);
• have a minimum of two years clinical experience post-graduation;
• hold current registration with the Dental Board of Australia or Dental Council (New Zealand);
• successfully complete an interview process.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Acute Care Nursing, applicants must hold:

• a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing)
  AND
• current or temporary unrestricted registration as a nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Degrees from overseas institutions must be assessed as equivalent to a recognised Australian accredited qualification.

The School of Nursing and Midwifery has instituted a Recognition of Prior Experience (RPE) procedure for registered nurses who do not have an undergraduate qualification. Applicants will be assessed on their ability to demonstrate eligibility requirements. The School of Nursing and Midwifery will determine eligibility for admission into the requested program based on application, curriculum vitae and referee reports.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Advanced Nursing Practice, applicants must hold:

• a Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent degree from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) and a GPA of 4 or above AND
• current or temporary unrestricted registration as a nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  OR
• a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Masters qualification in nursing or a related area (students admitted with one of these qualifications may be eligible for credit depending upon the courses completed in the prior qualification) AND
• current or temporary unrestricted registration as a nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Additional admission requirements

• Critical Care Nursing specialisation:
  • Applicants must be working with critical care presentations for a minimum of two days per week.
• Emergency Nursing specialisation:
  • Applicants must be working with emergency presentations for a minimum of two days per week.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Education, applicants must have:

• a Bachelor degree in non-related discipline from a recognised tertiary institution.
  OR
• a Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Education (Honours) or Graduate Diploma of Education or Master of Teaching or an ACER Graduate Certificate in Education - Assessment of Student Learning or a Bachelor degree in a related discipline (for example, in Learning and Development) from a recognised tertiary institution - these students will be eligible for 40 credit points of advanced standing.
  OR
• have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to the above - these students may be eligible for up to 40 credit points of credit.

To be eligible for admission to the Graduate Certificate in Global Development, a student must:

• hold any Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.0 (using a 7.0 scale) OR
• have a minimum of three years equivalent full-time professional work or relevant work experience
• have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to either of the above.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Public Administration, a student must:

• hold a related Bachelor degree (or higher) from a recognised University (or another tertiary education institution of equivalent standing) with a minimum GPA of 4.5 (using a 7.0 scale), OR
• hold a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Policy Analysis (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 4.5 (using a 7.0 scale). Students with a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Policy Analysis will receive 40 credit points of advanced standing, OR
• hold a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Integrity and Anti-Corruption (or equivalent) with a minimum GPA of 4.5 (using a 7.0 scale). Students with a Griffith Graduate Certificate in Integrity and Anti-Corruption will receive 40 credit points of advanced standing, OR
• have a combination of alternative admission criteria such as formal, informal and non-formal learning deemed to be equivalent to one of the above.
