Graduate Diploma
The Graduate Diploma in Midwifery is a 14 month program for registered nurses who wish to pursue a career in midwifery.
Graduates of this program can look forward to career opportunities in:
Midwifery is the art and science of providing holistic care to women and their families throughout pregnancy and birth. Midwives provide family planning and preconception care, perform prenatal exams, and care for the health of mothers-to-be.
Midwifery teaching careers usually involve gaining an academic post in a university, but practising midwives also commonly teach as part of their work. You may be involved in the education of midwifery students, the training of new graduate midwives or midwives new to the workplace.
University Lecturers and Tutors prepare and deliver lectures and conduct tutorials in one or more subjects within a prescribed program of study at a university and conduct research in a particular field of knowledge.
Policy development involves researching, compiling and analysing a range of facts that relate to the benefit of society. It involves working with a range of government agencies and community groups to pinpoint relevant solutions.
