  • Broaden your knowledge of climate and weather with UniSQ's Master of Science (Applied Climate Science). Focusing upon the impacts of climate variability on natural systems as well as human and socio-economic activities, this specialisation will develop your understanding of climate and how we adapt and manage variability on a regional and global level.
  • You will have the opportunity to decide between two different pathways of study in your masters degree:
    • Research Project track - the Research Project track equips you with research skills and allows you to develop a research thesis through a project in your chosen disciplinary application area.
    • Research Training track - the Research Training track allows you to develop your research capability and gain specialised cognitive and technical skills to prepare for a professional career in science.

Upon successful completion of the Master of Science (Applied Climate Science), you have the opportunity to move into PhD study.

  • 3-year Bachelor degree from an Australian university or equivalent.
  • or
  • equivalent professional work experience, as determined through the Credit and Exemption procedure.
English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.5 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
