  • Learn about the importance of cyber security and how to identify potential attacks, threats and vulnerabilities that may exist in business systems and networks and build on your capacity to resolve issues.
  • Examine project management principles, gain systems analysis and design skills, and discover regulatory, cultural, and ethical implications of collecting and managing digital assets and data in a digital era.
  • Explore entrepreneurship in the technology arena, so you are equipped with the skills to identify, analyse, and realise new business opportunities.
  • In addition to the core courses within this information systems degree you will select one elective, from topics ranging from leadership in digital services, business intelligence or social analytics for business just to name a few.
  • Once graduated, you will be eligible to apply for entry into an information systems masters program, such as the UniSQ Master of Information Systems.
Further study

After completing the Graduate Diploma of Information Systems, you may be eligible to enter into the Master of Information Systems which is accredited at professional level by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and, through the Seoul Accord which is recognised in other countries.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements
  • An Australian university bachelor's degree or equivalent, or a minimum of 3 years' professional work experience (at Skill level 1 -3).

For candidates who have a bachelor's degree (AQF level 7), or equivalent, in a non-information systems related discipline from a recognised institution, UniSQ's Graduate Certificate of Information Systems provides an articulation pathway into the Graduate Diploma of Information Systems.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
