At UniSQ, the Bachelor of Science (Honours) allows you to dive deep into an area you're passionate about. It's your chance to play a pivotal role in research on topics or issues that matter to you most, fostering critical thinking and problem solving and opening doors to a career that makes a difference.
You will be guided by renowned academics and profressionals in three core courses where you will carry out original scientific research, evaluate real-world practical problems and the limitations these place on progress in science, and you will learn to critically evaluate scientific literature.
You will also participate in research teams, be introduced to advanced experimental and literature research methods, and have opportunities to make contact with the wider scientific community in the local region, elsewhere in Australia and overseas.
Under this research specialisation, you will be able to select from the following project topics:

- Animal Science
- Biology
- Food Science
- Plant Science
- Wine Science

Further study

Successful completion of honours will qualify you for entry into postgraduate programs, including masters and PhD studies.

Entry requirements

Entry requirements

3-year bachelor degree, or equivalent, in the area of Honours study from a recognised institution, with a minimum GPA of 5.0 (credit).
Candidates must have both supervisory and honours committee approval prior to enrolment.

Satisfaction of admission requirements does not guarantee admission.

English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
