Entry requirements

Entry requirements
  • Completion of a bachelor degree, or equivalent, in creative arts or a related discipline, with a minimum Grade Point Average of 5.0.
  • Submit a proposal outlining the initial direction of your Honours research (750 words).
  • Have an interview with relevant supervisor/s (telephone or face-to-face). This will be in addition to having a 5.0 (or above) GPA.

Some consideration for significant professional practice can be given to applicants at the discretion of the School of Creative Arts. Specific entry requirements can be:

  • credit level (grade point average of 5.0/7 i.e. 71.4 per cent) in the entire degree and permission of the School of Creative Arts
  • a grade point average of 5/7 (71.4 per cent) across all levels in the proposed major study
  • a grade point average of 5.2/7 (74.3 per cent) in the third level of the program (i.e. Major and Option), including an 'A' or better level pass in at least one course of the major
  • grades of 'A' or High Distinction in all courses in the third-level of the major
  • for a candidate with equivalent qualifications or relevant work experience by special permission of the School of Creative Arts.
English language requirements

You are required to satisfy the applicable English language requirements and this degree requires a minimum of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. If you do not meet the English language requirements you may apply to study a University-approved English language program.

Recognition of prior learning or work experience

You may be eligible for recognition of prior learning if you have previously studied or have relevant work experience. This will help to reduce the number of courses that you need to study to finish your program.
