Notre Dame encourages applications from people of all backgrounds and takes into consideration
the applicant's academic performance as well as their personal qualities and accomplishments.
Academic requirements are as follows:

• A recognised undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification) or studies sufficient to meet the requirements of that Award; or
• A Graduate Certificate in a Business discipline; or
• Where the applicant does have an undergraduate degree, the Dean may approve admission to this program if the
  Dean is satisfied that: a) the applicant has sufficient background and/or experience in management/supervision; and b) the applicant has the skills necessary to complete postgraduate studies.

To be eligible for admission to the Master of Philosophy applicants must also meet the following specific requirements.

• Applicants to the master's program are expected to satisfy the following criteria:
  • Possession of a Bachelor's degree (AQF level 7 qualification); or
  • In exceptional circumstances, an equivalent academic or professional background that is considered by the National Head of School to be an appropriate preparation for independent study and research work at master's level.

An applicant may be required to satisfy the National Head of School of the ability to understand and communicate in both written and spoken English at a level adequate for the purpose of pursuing the program of study.

Applicants for this program must hold a Bachelor's degree from a recognised higher education provider. Students who have English as an additional language and are admitted on the basis of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS) assessment, or an equivalent English language proficiency assessment, are only admitted if they have attained an overall score of 7.5 in IELTS Academic, with no score lower than 8.0 in speaking and listening, and no score lower than 7.0 in reading and writing.

Applicants must have a recognised Bachelor's degree in any discipline.

The Pro Vice Chancellor-Research, on the advice of the Dean of the School, determines admission to the Doctor of Nursing Award.

Applicants to the doctoral program are expected to satisfy the following criteria:

• Possession of a research Masters degree by thesis or dissertation appropriate to the professional field of the applicant; or
• Possession of a Masters degree by coursework appropriate to the professional field of the applicant completed at a superior standard; or
• Possession of a Bachelor's degree with Honours (typically 1st Class or Class 2A Honours level or equivalent); or
• Possession of a Master of Philosophy; or
• In exceptional circumstances, an equivalent academic or professional background that is considered by the Dean of the School to be an appropriate preparation for independent study and research work at doctoral level.

An applicant may be required to satisfy the Dean of the School of the ability to understand and communicate in both written and spoken English at a level adequate for the purpose of pursuing the program of study. In addition to the academic criteria listed above, applicants are normally expected to satisfy the following:

• have a minimum of 3 years of relevant professional practice;
• have the support of an industry or professional mentor.

A student applying for the Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education should:

• Hold the equivalent of a four year primary teaching qualification;
• Hold a Teacher Registration; and
• Have a minimum of three years' teaching experience

Applicants must fulfil the following requirements:

• Possess an undergraduate degree from a recognised university, which has been completed at a high credit standard and which demonstrates the applicant's potential to undertake and complete research-based study.
• Have an equivalent academic background or extensive professional experience that is considered by the Dean of the School to be an appropriate preparation for independent study and research work at Master's level.
• Candidates may be required to satisfy the Dean of the School of the ability to understand and communicate in both written and spoken English at a level adequate for the purpose of pursuing the program of study.

The following criteria are required for a student to be admitted to the program:

• Possesses a medical degree from a recognised university.
• Demonstrates potential to undertake and complete a research-based study.
• Currently engaged in clinical or professional practice.
• Satisfy the Dean of the School of the ability to understand and communicate in both written and spoken English at a level adequate for the purpose of pursuing the program of study.

A completed Bachelor's degree from a recognised university in Arts, Science, Education or Business.

• A Bachelor's degree or its equivalent in a health professional field
• Active involvement in health professional education

Students who have completed a Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching for Higher Education or equivalent may be eligible to enrol in the Graduate Diploma of Health Professional Education.

• A Bachelor's degree from a recognised Australian or overseas university demonstrating the attainment of satisfactory grades OR
• Relevant industry experience in management/supervision.
