In the Graduate Diploma in Music (Musicology) you will conceive, plan and execute a dissertation, and present a paper at a conference organised by the Conservatorium midway through the program. To support the writing of your dissertation, you undertake a music research subject, introducing you to current issues in musicology and a variety of resources and methodologies available for musicological research. Topics include an introduction to the skills and techniques of musicological research, including such issues as music bibliography, editorial and archival practices, as well as the mechanics of dissertation writing. You will also choose academic elective subjects relevant to your area of research and interest.
