Graduate Certificate
We are in the process of developing exciting new learning programs at Melbourne School of Government. We are also reviewing and making some adjustments to how we deliver our existing courses and subjects. As part of this review, we are suspending applications into the Public Administration courses following the Summer 2021 Intake (February).
The Graduate Certificate in Public Administration (Advanced) is a unique, interdisciplinary program designed exclusively for experienced professionals.
You'll develop the skills and competencies to operate in increasingly complex governing environments where challenges cut across disciplinary, organisational, jurisdictional and geographical boundaries. You'll acquire specialist knowledge in your field and learn how to generate bold research and shape public policy.
The Graduate Certificate in Public Administration (Advanced) is taught by leading experts from across disciplines.
As a student, you'll study four subjects: the compulsory foundational subject 'The World of Public Administration' as well as three core subjects that draw on expertise from a range of disciplines including public administration, public policy, law, management, leadership, international relations, economics, development studies and philosophy.
Total: 50 points
The Graduate Certificate in Public Administration (Advanced) prepares you to take on leadership roles working in and with government.
It's designed for professionals with experience in the public sector who are looking to take on more senior roles in the public service and politics, as well as in bodies that engage with government - like industry bodies, non-governmental organisations and community advocacy groups, both locally and overseas.
You may also be eligible to progress to the Master of Public Administration or the Master of Public Administration (Enhanced).
