The University of Queensland (UQ) Courses

To be eligible for entry, you'll need:

• a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, with at least one course in chemistry or biology, or
• 2 years full-time equivalent, relevant work experience (see below).

Relevant work experience includes work in biotechnology, science, medicine, biomedical science, pharmacy, bioinformatics, genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, and biological chemistry.

• a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, with at least one course in chemistry and biology, or
• a graduate certificate (or equivalent) in molecular biology.

• a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, with at least one course in chemistry and biology, or
• a graduate certificate (or equivalent) in molecular biology.

It's possible to complete this degree in 1.5 years or 1 year depending on your qualifications and experience.

You can apply for any duration as long as you meet the entry requirements. You may also be eligible to apply for credit or exemptions to shorten your degree further. You'll graduate with the same qualification no matter how long you take to complete the degree.

To be eligible to complete the degree in 1.5 years

• a degree in law leading to admission to legal practice (eg LLB or equivalent), or
• an equivalent academic or professional qualification in law and be able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Executive Dean that you have the requisite knowledge and experience to complete the program.

You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.

If you have relevant prior learning or experience, you can reduce the number of courses you need to complete and graduate in less time.

To be eligible to complete the degree in 1 year

• an honours or master's degree in law leading to admission to legal practice (eg LLB(Hons), JD or equivalent), or
• a degree in law leading to admission to legal practice (eg LLB or equivalent), and either - a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice or equivalent qualification, or 2 years of professional full-time equivalent relevant work experience (see below), or
• an equivalent academic or professional qualification in law and be able to demonstrate to the satisfaction of the Executive Dean that you have the requisite knowledge and experience to complete the program.

You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 4.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification.

Relevant work experience includes work as a solicitor; barrister; in-house legal practitioner; legal consultant with a major consulting firm; contracts officer or claims manager within a commercial entity; bank, finance or insurance officer; research officer within a legal practice, law reform commission or public advocacy organisation; legal studies teacher or legal academic.

• 2 years full-time equivalent, relevant work experience in medical imaging, physics or molecular imaging.

• satisfied any additional requirements set by the head of school.

• a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a field other than interaction design, multimedia design, human computer interaction or user experience design, or
• to have completed post-secondary studies in a field other than interaction design, multimedia design, human computer interaction or user experience design and 2 years full-time equivalent relevant work experience (see below). Relevant work experience includes a minimum of two years' work in a professional, knowledge-based or information-oriented workplace. This may include work in administration, business, customer support, finance, government, human resources, law, marketing, operations/project management, strategy and sustainability. This will need to be supported with evidence.

Evidence of relevant work experience should include a letter from your employer (and/or previous employers) clearly stating the following:

• That you work (or worked) within the specified organisation
• The nature of your work, detailing any relevant duties and responsibilities to the entry criteria above
• The length of time you were in your role/s (i.e demonstrating minimum length for entry) and whether this was full-time, part-time, or casual
• Any further bespoke conditions listed by the entry criteria

Letters will typically be expected to be presented on company letterhead and signed by a manager or HR representative. A CV or resume is not a sufficient document on its own, and must be accompanied by a supporting letter as described above.

Relevant work experience includes work in:

• the planning, management and implementation of policies or programs at any level of governmental agencies - local, state, national or international, and
• program delivery or project management in non-government and community organisations, and
• research, evaluation, building organisational capabilities, and service delivery.

This work experience should demonstrate analytical and writing skills.
