Relevant work experience includes professional practice or work in an engineering environment relevant to the field of study, to which you are seeking admission. This will need to be supported with evidence.

Evidence of relevant work experience should include a letter from your employer (and/or previous employers) clearly stating the following:

• That you work (or worked) within the specified organisation
• The nature of your work, detailing any relevant duties and responsibilities to the entry criteria above
• The length of time you were in your role/s (i.e demonstrating minimum length for entry) and whether this was full-time, part-time, or casual
• Any further bespoke conditions listed by the entry criteria

Letters will typically be expected to be presented on company letterhead and signed by a manager or HR representative. A CV or resume is not a sufficient document on its own, and must be accompanied by a supporting letter as described above.

All applications based on work experience are subject to an individual assessment.

Entry into a program through work experience does not necessarily provide a pathway into further study in a Masters.

• a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, plus 1 year full-time equivalent relevant work experience in an environmental health-related setting, or

• the Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from UQ (or equivalent), or
• a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, plus 3 years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience, or
• the UQx Corporate Innovation MicroMasters credential with 65% in the Corporate Innovation Capstone Assessment, plus three years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience.

• a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline, or
• the Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship and Innovation from UQ (or equivalent), or
• a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in any discipline, plus 3 years of full-time equivalent relevant work experience, or

To be eligible to complete the degree in 2 years

• to have successfully completed 3 years of study towards an approved qualification at an overseas partner institution, with a formal pathway to the Master of Data Science.

You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification

If you have relevant prior learning or experience, you can reduce the number of courses you need to complete and graduate in less time.

To be eligible to complete the degree in 1.5 years

• a bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline (see below) with studies in at least 3 courses in mathematics, 2 courses in statistics or probability and 3 courses in computer sciences.

You must have a grade point average (GPA) of 5.0 on a 7-point scale in your previous qualification

Relevant disciplines include information technology, computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, physics and actuarial studies.

If your bachelor's degree was not awarded in a relevant discipline, you must have successfully completed the following discipline content in your tertiary studies (for entry into the 2 year degree only):

• calculus or advanced mathematics or higher mathematics or mathematical analysis, and
• at least 2 courses from the following content areas (courses must be from two different content areas):
• linear algebra
• programming or C Language or object oriented (OOP) or java/software engineering
• databases or data structures or algorithms or data mining
• probability or statistics
• computational mathematics or numerical analysis or differential equations or multivariate analysis

• education contexts such as schools, service delivery agencies, government agencies, or
• alternative education settings working with children, adolescents or adults, with roles and responsibilities such as, teaching, program/curriculum development, assessment, educational leadership, administration, youth support, allied health, and sport sciences.
