About this course

This course will prepare you for a professional career in the water industry. You will develop your understanding, design, operation and monitoring of conventional potable water and sewage treatment process, as well as many of the more specific water treatment processes allied with industry, agriculture, mining and public service needs.

As part of the course, you'll complete the design and implementation of a substantial project relevant to industry to apply your knowledge and understanding and develop critical problem solving skills. You'll also conduct practical laboratory experiments to develop your understanding of the scientific and engineering principles and evaluation techniques in water treatment, wastewater treatment, water chemistry and water recycling.

Successful completion of this course provides a clear pathway into the Master of Water Treatment and Desalination. Additionally, this Diploma provides the grounding for entry into higher degree research programs in water engineering.
