Course Description

Designed for those interested in the education of adults, the Graduate Certificate in Tertiary and Adult Education will enhance your skills and knowledge required for teaching adults in a wide variety of formal and informal settings. This course is particularly relevant and valuable for university lecturers and tutors, vocational education and training (VET) teachers and lecturers from public and private Registered Training Organisations (RTOs), nurse educators, adult literacy teachers, community adult educators, human resources and industrial training officers, and professional development personnel. This course is also ideal for those interested in transitioning into education from different disciplines with the goal of progressing toward a higher degree.
Throughout this course you will be introduced to the concepts, theories and practice of adult education, and you will build on your learning through varied elective choice. Upon successful completion of this Graduate Certificate, you may apply for admission to the Graduate Diploma in Education (Tertiary and Adult).
As a graduate of this course you will be eligible to work as a university lecturer or tutor, vocational education and training (VET) teacher or lecturer, nurse educator, adult literacy teacher, community adult educator, human resources and industrial training officer, or professional development personnel.
