My name is Shannon Clarke. I am 23 years old and recently moved to Charleville, South West Queensland to discover the world of rural and remote nursing. I am an endorsed enrolled nurse have completed my bachelor's. I am very passionate and enthusiastic in my nursing career and have come to the realization that I would like to further my career in the health care industry and become a Registered Nurse to open myself many learning opportunities both personally and in my nursing career.
I am currently in the first year of my postgraduate studies and am learning so much both about nursing and life lessons. It has become clear to me that time management is a key tool in everyday life whether it be for work or studies. I have also learnt the importance of group interaction in learning, as it is interesting to get a take on how people understand our studies and get an idea of how others perceive information.
I hope to be able to broaden my nursing knowledge and skillset and keep learning something new every day. I hope to help others whether it be nursing them back to health or giving that emotional support they need. I also hope to be able to experience more, able to go to more rural and remote communities and be able to learn about their backgrounds and their cultures. I also hope to be able to reflect on experiences and build a thorough and eventful nursing career.
I plan to travel whilst nursing and be able to experience people from all cultural and social backgrounds, I would also like to be able to be an active person in the community and help where I can. I also hope this degree with help me grow to be a better person. I would like to be able to look back on my nursing career one day and be able to say that I learn a lot, I experienced a lot but I also helped a lot of people.
