About this scholarship

These Scholarships are made possible thanks to the generosity of CQUniversity alumni, staff, community partners and friends who donated to the 2018 CQUniCares Annual Appeal. The scholarships will provide recognition and financial assistance to students who are under financial pressure.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to receive a CQUniCares Appeal Scholarship, an applicant must:

  • Be able to demonstrate low personal/family income or under financial pressure
  • Be enrolled at CQUniversity at the time of Census date in Term 1, 2019
  • Not be receiving another Donor Funded* Scholarship or a CQUniCares Launch Scholarship

*Donor Funded: refers to a scholarship which is only available to CQUniversity students, funded by an individual or organisation external to the University (excluding Federal Government funded Commonwealth Scholarships)

Selection Criteria

Applicants will be assessed on the application form and a written submission of no more than 500 words addressing the following:

  • Career goals and how the scholarship will assist you in achieving your educational objectives;
  • Extracurricular activities – especially community and volunteering activities and demonstration of leadership.
  • Life experiences

Additional Information

In addition to the ongoing eligibility requirements, the successful applicants must:

  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 4.0 each term
  • Remain enrolled in the course as at Census date of each term with a study load of at least 12 credit points

Please note that failure to meet the continuing eligibility criteria may result in the Scholarship being cancelled.

As a donor-funded scholarship recipient, you may be approached to assist with positively promoting CQUniCares by sharing your experiences as a scholarship recipient through media and at events such as Open Day. You may also be approached to contribute to future CQUniCares Annual Appeals by sharing your story.

As there is a limited allocation of CQUniCares Appeal Scholarships available, the decision regarding all successful applications will be final.

How to apply

To apply for The CQUniCares Appeal Scholarship:

  1. Read and understand the scholarship information above, specifically the eligibility, selection criteria and supporting documentation needed for your online application.
  2. Scholarships will open at 9am AEST on 5th November, 2018 and ALL applications must be submitted online by the closing date, 5pm AEST, 8th February, 2019.
  3. Complete an online Scholarship Application Form, ensuring all supporting documentation is attached as outlined above.

Further information may be required to assess your application. These requests for further information will be sent directly to student email accounts (current students) or nominated email accounts for future students who are not yet enrolled. Responses to requests for further information must be received before 5pm AEST on the closing date. Failure to supply requested documents will result in your application being incomplete. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
