Undergraduates looking to gain more skills and knowledge in their field may study for a Graduate Certificate, Diploma, or Master of Pharmacy. The difference is in the course credits and the hours of study.
Typically, a Master of Pharmacology will take two years to complete if studied full-time.
Having a graduate certificate in pharmacy will let you work as a pharmacist in Australia, after completing your required internship. You are more likely to get employment in a more specialised career as well.
Graduate certificates and diplomas of pharmacy aren’t typically eligible for Austudy, but Masters degrees are. You can review the full list of approved Austudy courses here.
You may, however, be eligible for hundreds of university-sponsored scholarships. Review them all here.
You are usually expected to have an undergraduate degree before you study one of these postgraduate degrees in pharmacy. In some cases, you can still apply with an unrelated bachelor's, provided you can show you have good grades and completed units in relevant subjects such as biochemistry, physiology, pharmacology and chemistry.
