Study a globally-recognised accounting degree with the Master of Business (Accounting).

Gain a strong foundation and conceptual knowledge of recent developments in sustainability and global trends in accounting. You'll develop specialist knowledge in accounting, economics and finance and learn the skills you need to succeed in a senior accounting position in a variety of industries.

Upon completion of this course, you will be eligible to apply for accreditation with CPA Australia and/or the Chartered Accountants - Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ).

Employment opportunities for accountants are very common and span a variety of roles in many different industry settings including public accounting practice, commercial and government organisations.

Course structure

To attain the Master of Business (Accounting), students will be required to complete 192 credit points consisting of:

  • 48 credit points college core units
  • 24 credit points business core units
  • 84 credit points professional core units
  • 36 credit points research units

RESEARCH OPTION 1

  • 12 credit points business research project; and,
  • 24 credit points elective units. Students to select units from any College of Business Post Graduate Course (subject to availability). Please check any prerequisite requirements prior to enrolling.

RESEARCH OPTION 2

  • 12 credit points business research proposal; and,
  • 24 credit points business research thesis.

Credit for prior study or work

If you have completed study with another university or institution and believe you are eligible to receive credit for skills and past study, you can apply for advanced standing.

Applications for advanced standing can be made after a discussion with your course chair or academic adviser.
