Graduate Certificate in Sport and Exercise Science

This course prepares you for a career in sport coaching or management. You will learn to:

• monitor and assess athletes' performance and psychological state
• understand current and pressing issues in the sport industry
• analyse data, with specific application to sport and exercise sciences
• design conditioning programs for athletes.

You will graduate prepared to work in different sporting disciplines, or to progress to further postgraduate study.

Graduates from the Graduate Certificate of Sport and Exercise Science may be employed in the following roles:

• sports science administration
• sport performance adviser
• data analyst
• performance analyst.

To attain the Graduate Certificate in Sport and Exercise Science, students will be required to complete 96 credit points consisting of:

• 48 credit points core units

If you have completed study with another university or institution and believe you are eligible to receive credit for skills and past study, you can apply for advanced standing.

Applications for advanced standing can be made after a discussion with your course chair or academic adviser.

• Advanced standing: If you have significant experience or studies elsewhere you may be eligible for credit for some units of your course and not have to undertake them.
