Master of Work Health and Safety Advanced (Risk Management)

The Master of Work Health and Safety Advanced provides a choice of first specialisations in Risk Management, Ergonomics or Occupational Hygiene, and second specialisations in either Health Promotion or WHS Research. It is intended for students who want to broaden or deepen their studies with a two year degree.

The Risk Management specialisation gives students the opportunity to develop advanced skills in an area of high employment demand. Health Promotion develops advanced knowledge and skills related to population health. The Research specialisation allows for a significant research project in the final stage of the program.

UOW's Work Health and Safety programs have been developed in conjunction with a wide range of industry sectors to address the complex nature of occupational health and safety in the workplace.

The program has a flexible mode of delivery, with online content delivered up front, and block teaching sessions of 3–5 days for exploration and application of subject material. On campus teaching components utilise a range of resources, including the well-equipped OHS Laboratory.

What you will study

The Master of Work Health and Safety Advanced (Risk Management) provides an intensive professional program of study in the area of occupational health and safety, specialising in Risk Management. The knowledge and skills you develop throughout the course will be applied to a research-based capstone workplace project in the final stage of the degree program. This will give you a high level of evidence-based professional practice in occupational health and safety.

You will either broaden or deepen your study by completing a second specialisation in Health Promotion or WHS Research.
