This course

The Graduate Certificate in Health Promotion provides students with the knowledge and skills to plan, implement and evaluate health promotion programs efficiently, effectively and appropriately to improve the health and wellbeing of populations. Health promotion focuses on the promotion of health in communities, social sectors and settings, and is a specialisation within the Master of Public Health.

What you will study

Guiding principles articulated in the action areas of the Ottawa and Bangkok Charters for Health Promotion are covered in the subjects Health Promotion and Public Health Policy. Primary investigative skills are developed in the Health Research Methodology subject. This theoretical and investigative base is complemented by opportunities to consolidate skills and apply knowledge in the Health Promotion Competencies subject.

Entry requirements

Admission to the Graduate Certificate in Health Promotion requires a Bachelor degree from any discipline. Applicants with other relevant professional qualifications (e.g. Registered Nurses) and at least two years' relevant work experience may also be considered.
