Doctorate (PhD)
The Doctor of Medicine (MD) aims to produce knowledgeable, caring and competent graduates, who are well prepared to commence vocational training in any area of medicine. We offer a four-year course using a combination of face to face teaching and learning sessions, clinical placements, blended and online learning, and self-directed learning. The course has a strong focus on regional, rural and remote health care so many clinical placements are in those locations.
No preference is given to any particular undergraduate degree.
Information on how to apply for this degree is available on the Graduate School of Medicine website.
Medical practitioners from UOW local communities and other health practitioners are involved in all aspects of the MD degree, delivered using a range of teaching-learning approaches:
The MD aims to prepare graduates with knowledge of medical and systems sciences, Indigenous health, health advocacy and clinical practice skills, meeting professional, legal and ethical requirements of the medical profession.
