About this scholarship

Applications are invited for this opportunity to be submitted to the Office of Research. This opportunity will remain open until a suitable candidate is selected.

Research opportunity in aspects of Public Health including, but not limited to, cancer prevention, injury prevention or obesity.  

Research projects are not pre-defined, however it is expected that students will have some relevant experience in the discipline of Public Health and will bring this experience as well as their own interests to bear in their research. This scholarship will be available full time or part time for an equivalent period to allow for students continuation of work in the relevant area of practice throughout their candidature.

ELIGIBILITY:
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must:

  • be a domestic student (Australian citizen or permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen)
  • be enrolled in, or have been offered admission to, a HDR program at USC;  and
  • recipients must maintain satisfactory progress as a higher degree by research candidate at the University of the Sunshine Coast

SELECTION CRITERIA:

  • Undergraduate academic achievement; and
  • Research strength; and
  • publications; and
  • Most recent degree; and
  • Relevant professional research experience

ELIGIBLE PROGRAMS:
Master by Research or PhD

VALUE:
Stipend commensurate with the Research Training Program rate. The 2017 rate is $26,628.
