University of the Sunshine Coast (USC) Courses

Applicants are required to have successfully completed a bachelor's qualification (AQF level 7) in a health-related field from a recognised tertiary education provider. Applicants who are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) who do not have a bachelor's qualification may be considered for admission based on extensive industry experience and will require approval by the Program Coordinator.

To be considered for admission candidates would normally be required to possess an undergraduate degree (AQF Level 7) qualification from a recognised higher education institution or equivalent*.

*Applicants who do not possess an undergraduate degree but have 5 years relevant work experience or other relevant experience may be admitted to the program.

Please note that offshore international students enrolling in this program can only study it fully online. This program is not available to onshore international students on a Student Visa.

Students must also meet the computing requirements for cyber security programs.

Before undertaking Work Integrated Learning placement, you must obtain a Blue card, complete a National Criminal History check and a QLD Health orientation package. You may also be required to complete first aid and CPR training. You must must also provide evidence of Hepatitis B immunisation, and evidence of vaccination for the diseases measles, mumps, rubella, varicella and pertussis - refer to Program Requirements.

You will be required to undertake some placements outside the Sunshine Coast region in metropolitan and regional/rural centres. Expenses for these and other placement requirements are to be incurred by you, the student. Placements in fourth year are undertaken on a full-time basis.

A student entering the Graduate Certificate in Steiner Education will normally be required to hold a four-year bachelor degree (AQF Level 7) qualification from a recognised institution, or equivalent qualification.

• Applicants who are Registered Nurses registered with AHPRA who do not have a bachelor-level qualification may be considered for admission based on extensive industry experience and will require approval by the Program Leader.

All applicants must either be able to declare that English is their primary language (ie they have attended and satisfactorily completed at least six years of primary and secondary education taught and assessed solely in English. At least two years of this education must have been between grades 7 and 12. This education must have been completed in one of the following countries: Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Republic of Ireland, South Africa, United Kingdom, or United States of America.); or they must attain an Academic IELTS score of at least 7.0 with a minimum of 7.0 in each subtest (obtained within two years prior to the commencement of the program).
