Masters (Coursework)
The Master of Medical Research is a 2 year (4 semester) research-focused course offered in Hobart. It is designed to equip students with the fundamental knowledge and skills to enhance career opportunities within medical research industries, academic medical research or medical research regulatory organisations.
Graduates will have gained technical knowledge and skills applicable to medical research, and developed advanced skills in written and verbal scientific communication. Graduates will have advanced problem-solving skills and will have an understanding of the global, social and ethical context of medical research.
This course offers an exit point of a Graduate Diploma of Medical Research after 1 year of full-time study.
A minimum of a science-based Bachelor’s degree of the University of Tasmania or of another University or tertiary Institute that is deemed equivalent.
Where an undergraduate degree has been recently obtained, a minimum average grade of 60% (credit) in the final 2 years would be required. Applicants below a credit average will be considered based on a combination of academic record and relevant experience after graduation.
