The Master of Clinical Midwifery is a three-year (i.e. six semester) part-time course offered statewide and interstate of which the first two years comprise the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery. Applicants entering at the third level of the program i.e. directly into the two Master's level units must have completed a Graduate Diploma or equivalent.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for an offer, an applicant must have:

  • Registration as a midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Practiced as a Midwife for at least six (6) months since graduation from a university program, prior to start of the course.
  • Evidence of AHPRA registration as a Division 1 Midwife with no endorsement notations or conditions.
  • Completed Graduate Diploma or equivalent in the same specialisation as the Master option they are applying for.
  • A credit average grade in the Graduate Diploma or equivalent.

Nurses who do not have a midwifery qualification identified in their Curriculum Vitae, are not eligible to apply.
