Entry requirements

Normal admission requirement are:successful completion of the requirements in the same specialisation for the Graduate Certificate in Arts (Specialisation) or Graduate Diploma in Arts (Specialisation) with a Credit average; ora Bachelor of Arts degree or its equivalent with the relevant major from the University of Tasmania with Credit average results; ora university degree with the relevant major from another university or tertiary institution, deemed to be appropriate by the Faculty of Arts; orcandidates not holding a bachelor's degree but whose employment experience indicates a level of knowledge and skill deemed by the Faculty to be sufficient to complete the course satisfactorily may be deemed eligible for admission,and a level of English equivalent to a score of 7.0 on an IELTS test.Exemptions regarding entry requirements may be made at the discretion of the Head of the relevant School in consultation with the Honours Coordinator and the Program Director.NB: Currently the GPA for credit average results is calculated on the basis of a HD=7, DN=6, CR=5, PP=4, without any failure in the units that makes up that GPA, for the units at intermediate and advanced level in the proposed program or otherwise approved by the program director.
