H4B Bachelor of Nursing with Clinical Honours (Transition to Practice) Admissions Requirements

Applicants who have recently completed secondary education (in the past two years): This course does not use ATAR and equivalent ranks as part of the admission process.

Applicants with previous higher education study: N/A. Applicants with previous

VET / TAFE study: N/A

Applications on the basis of work or life experience: Applicants must be an AHPRA Registered Nurse with no conditions or restrictions to practice, who is completing or has just completed (within the last three months) a Transition to Practice program.

Prerequisites: Nil.

What you will learn

1 Apply advanced theoretical and technical knowledge in chosen area of nursing practice.

2 Critically analyse and evaluate practice for the provision of effective and comprehensive care.

3 Evaluate strategies used to optimise health in transition practice using independent judgement.

4 Critically reflect on ethical dilemmas and to identify potential adverse consequences in specialised health care contexts.

5 Critically reflect on ethical dilemmas to advocate and protect the rights of individuals or groups that acknowledge differences in cultural and/or linguistic background.

6 Communicate nursing knowledge and health related information to a range of audiences.

Career pathways

Graduates will receive a formal award for completing their transition into the profession as well as develop a high quality Professional Portfolio that they will use for career advancement and Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).

Postgraduate study

If you successfully complete this course, you may be also be eligible to apply for a range of other postgraduate courses including Graduate Certificates and Graduate Diplomas and Masters by coursework and research.
