About this scholarship

Background:

A unique opportunity is available for an outstanding Masters by Research or PhD scholar at the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney to conduct research into dermatology.

This Scholarship was established in 2015 by a bequest from Mrs Margit Schroeder in memory of her husband.

Open to:

  1. This Scholarship is offered subject to the applicant having an unconditional offer of admission or being currently enrolled in a Masters by Research or PhD at the Sydney Medical School at the University of Sydney.
  2. Applicants must conduct research into dermatology.
  3. Applicants must be a graduate or graduand of an Australian or overseas University.
  4. Applicants must be an Australian citizen, Australian Permanent resident or New Zealand citizen.
  5. To be considered for this Scholarship applicants must apply for a Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship.

Value and Duration:

The Scholarship will provide a stipend allowance equivalent to the minimum rate of the Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship, as escalated on 1 January of each year, for up to two years for a Masters by Research and up to three years for a PhD, subject to satisfactory academic performance.

A successful PhD applicant may apply for an extension of up to six months.

Eligibility

You must:

  • have an unconditional offer of admission or be currently enrolled in a master's by research or PhD at the Sydney Medical School
  • apply for a Research Training Program (RTP) stipend scholarship
  • conduct research into dermatology
  • be a university graduate or graduand
  • must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident or a New Zealand citizen.

Application process

No separate application necessary – you need to apply for a Research Training Program (RTP) stipend scholarship.

Successful recipients will be notified at the end of each year if they are successful in receiving one of these scholarships that will commence the following year.
