Background:
The Discipline of Anatomy and Histology was the recipient of a significant bequest from Mrs Ann Macintosh, which lead to the creation of the Professor NWG Macintosh Memorial Fund. This fund was established in memory of her husband, Neil William George Macintosh, a former Challis Professor of Anatomy, to support the Discipline of Anatomy & Histology. Mrs Macintosh specified quite clearly that it was to be used "for the support of research work in the Department of Anatomy and Histology, including the JL Shellshear Museum, preferably, when applicable for the support of young investigators." The Mrs Ann & Professor NWG Macintosh PhD Scholarships were created to honor her wishes.
