An opportunity is available for an outstanding PhD scholar in the area of energy dissipation and turbulence characteristics of hydraulic jump.

Applicants must have an unconditional offer of admission for full-time studies in a Masters by Research or a PhD within the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technologies at the University of Sydney, and be willing to undertake research in the field of energy dissipation and turbulence characteristics of hydraulic jump.
Applicants must hold Honours degree (First Class or Second Class upper) or a Masters degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related discipline with a substantial research component (or equivalent).

Value and Duration:
For a PhD recipient, the Scholarship will provide an annual stipend allowance equivalent to the RTP rate (indexed to the RTP rate on January One each year) for up to three years, subject to satisfactory academic performance. The recipient may apply for an extension of up to 6 months.
For a Masters by Research recipient, the Scholarship will provide an annual stipend allowance equivalent to the RTP rate (indexed to the RTP rate on January One each year) for up to two years (unless the student converts to a PhD in which case Clause 10. a. will apply), subject to satisfactory academic performance. No extension is possible subject to Clause 10.a.
