Background:
- Services present a higher level of abstraction providing a human concept to computing. In that respect, the key aspect of the service approach is its ability to elegantly provide real-world problems with a naturally congruous solution. It is the preferred delivery framework for emerging trends, such as cloud computing, Big Data, Internet of Things (IoT), and social computing.
- In this project, the primary focus is to efficiently design a cloud service management framework. We are considering a broad range of cloud services such as Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and social clouds (Facebook, YouTube, etc.). The candidates are expected to undertake a wide spectrum of research issues in the context of cloud service management such as service design, long-term composition and optimizing cloud economics.
Open to:
- Applicants with an unconditional offer of admission for full-time PhD studies within the School of Information Technologies at the University of Sydney, and be willing to undertake research in the field of Cloud Service Management.
- Applicants must also hold an Honours degree (First Class or Second Class upper), or a Master’s degree in a related field with a substantial research component. Applicants must also have a strong background in one or more Programming languages (e.g. C++, Java, Python and others) and algorithms.
