About this scholarship

Background: Established in 1939 by a bequest from Professor Pitt Cobbett, first Chair of Law in 1890 and first Dean of the Faculty of Law at the University of Sydney. The bequest was made to support to study of law by students in need of financial assistance.

Open to:

  • Applicants must be enrolled full-time in either the undergraduate Combined Law or the Juris Doctor Program at the University of Sydney.
  • Applicants must be seeking financial assistance for a special project or extracurricular activity related to their studies.
  • Applications must be submitted up to 6 months in advance of the activity, or within six months post completion of the activity.
  • Applicants must demonstrate financial hardship.

Value: Up to $1,000
