How to apply

The application process is ongoing. To be considered for this scholarship, you must apply for a Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship.

The scholarship is awarded subject to funding availability.

Benefits

  • The scholarship will provide an annual stipend supplementary allowance of $5000 per year (fixed amount) for up to three years for PhD students and up to two years for masters by research students, subject to satisfactory academic performance.
  • PhD recipients may apply for an extension of up to 6 months. No extension is possible for a master's by research recipient.

Who's eligible

You must:

  • be studying or have an offer of admission to a full-time master's by research or PhD in mechanical and mechatronic engineering in the School of Aerospace, Mechanical and Mechatronic Engineering
  • have been awarded a Research Training Program (RTP) Stipend Scholarship from the University of Sydney.

Background

This scholarship was established in 1896 from a gift from Sir Peter Nicol Russell, which later became known as the Peter Nicol Russell Bequest.
