Who's eligible

You must:

  • be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • be in your third or fourth year of the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
  • be willing to undertake a placement in Africa or a developing country, with a focus on animal welfare
  • demonstrate financial hardship.

Background

Graham Jew started his career in a rural mixed practice in northern NSW, before working and travelling throughout Southern Africa. He passed his love of the continent to his daughter Eleanor, who now works in conservation and development in Africa.

This scholarship aims to support students who will contribute to animal welfare whilst gaining experience to develop their career and contributing to veterinary science in developing countries.
