About this scholarship

Background

Established in 2018, this Scholarship provides support to students enrolled in the Faculty of Science who demonstrate financial hardship. 

Open to:

Applicants must be domestic (Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens and Australian permanent residents) full-fee paying commencing, or continuing students enrolled in either:

  • a postgraduate coursework degree within the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney, or
  • undergraduate non-award units of study within the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney. 

Students enrolled in non-award study must also be currently completing their HSC or equivalent and have demonstrated outstanding academic results within science disciplines.  

Applicants must be able to demonstrate significant ongoing financial hardship. 

Value and Duration:

The Value awarded is as follows:

Either 50% or 100% of the tuition fees for the specified units of study for a recipient enrolled in non-award studies, as stated in the Scholarship letter of offer. Partial of full coverage is provided based on the level of financial disadvantage demonstrated, or 

Either 50% or 100% of the tuition fees for up to a maximum of two semesters for an enrolled postgraduate coursework recipient, as stated in the Scholarship letter of offer. Partial or full coverage is provided based on the level of financial disadvantage demonstrated.
