Accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), the Master of Surgery (Surgical Skills) provides clinicians with the knowledge and skills to apply the best available research evidence to surgical patient care, and broaden their knowledge base through a range of elective units of study.
This stream of the Master of Surgery is coursework based, comprised of a range of core and elective units, and is designed for those embarking on a surgical career who are preparing to sit for the GSSE Part 1 Examination.
As a surgery student, you will learn from highly regarded clinicians and academics at the Sydney Medical School. The knowledge you develop will complement the practical experience you can obtain through the RACS training program, and augment your research, leadership and communication skills. This course is not a qualification to practice surgery.
Our degrees are very relevant to postgraduate students who aspire to an academic or teaching hospital career, in addition to potential employers who look to the acquisition of a postgraduate degree in surgery as a desirable condition of appointment.

Eligibility for an Australian Student Visa includes minimum requirements regarding face to face teaching. This degree is not available offshore to international students.
