Course Description

Accredited by the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS), the Master of Surgery (Plastic/Reconstructive Surgery) provides clinicians with the knowledge and skills to apply the best available research evidence to surgical patient care, and broaden their knowledge base through a range of elective units of study.

A combination of coursework and research, this stream of the Master of Surgery is designed for those who see their future in the field of plastic/reconstructive surgery. You will undertake a range of core and elective coursework units complemented by a research project in plastic/reconstructive surgery which will be the subject of your dissertation.

As a surgery student, you will learn from highly regarded clinicians and academics at the Sydney Medical School, ranked 17th in the world* for our academic and research excellence. The knowledge you develop will complement the practical experience you can obtain through the RACS training program, and augment your research, leadership and communication skills. This course is not a qualification to practice surgery.
