Ophthalmic science aims to prevent blindness, promote eye health and rehabilitate those with a visual disability. The Master of Science in Medicine (Ophthalmic Science) will provide you with the grounding required to undertake a career in vision science.
Our ophthalmology programs have been developed and are taught by the Save Sight Institute at the Sydney Eye Hospital. They have extensive experience in providing the best quality ophthalmic care in both developed and developing countries.
This course will give you the core knowledge and understanding of the basic ophthalmic sciences and you will gain skills in the theoretical and practical aspects of ophthalmic anatomy, physiology and optics. The course includes a two-week intensive practical unit where you will gain skills in the practical applications of ophthalmic equipment and familiarity with anatomical specimens. To complete this programme, you will undertake a supervised basic ophthalmic science research project.
