Entry requirements

 

A successful applicant for admission to the Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner) will hold:

  1. Current general registration as a registered nurse.
  2. A minimum of two years full-time equivalent as a registered nurse in a specified clinical field and two years full-time experience of current advanced nursing practice in this same field.
  3. A postgraduate qualification at Australian Qualifications Framework Level 8 in a clinical field.
  4. Evidence of confirmed support to complete all professional experience requirements of the course.

  2. testamurs of degrees or diplomas
  3. current authority to practice as a registered nurse in Australia
  4. passport, birth certificate or citizenship certificate;
  5. marriage certificate or other appropriate documentation, if your name has changed
  6. curriculum vitae detailing both education and clinical experiences, job description, continuing education and advanced practice experience
  7. minimum of two references from two senior clinicians attesting to your advanced practice experience and capabilities.
  8. letter from employer confirming employment status
  9. A letter of organisational support to carry out the clinical practicum (including 300 supernumerary integrated professional practice hours) prescribed in the course. View a template for this letter.
  10. letter from nominated Primary Clinical Supervisor stating that he/she has sighted the supervisory role and is willing to fulfil the role of your mentor, teacher and supervisor while you participate in the required advanced practice hours
  11. proposed Primary Clinical Supervisor's Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  12. any other relevant documentation that you feel may support your application.
