Become a leader in healthcare. Designed for registered nurses, the Master of Advanced Nursing Practice explores the ways nurses work and practice within clinical environments. Gain specialist expertise and leadership skills alongside the confidence to advance your clinical practice in a range of areas and progress towards senior healthcare roles.
As an advanced nursing student, you will learn from leading researchers in nursing practice and the study of clinical environments. This course will solidify the theoretical foundations of nursing practice and develop your confidence to use the latest research based evidence to inform your clinical decision making.
During this one and a half year degree, you will build on the knowledge you have gained through your clinical practice, with an emphasis on the provision of high quality care and patient safety. You will cover core units in the foundations of clinical practice and assessment before taking a range of elective units which allow you to further advance your knowledge in clinical areas of particular interest. A work-based project or research thesis will comprise the capstone experience of this degree, providing the opportunity for you to apply your expertise as you develop a nuanced understanding of nursing practice and clinical environments.
Upon completion of this course, you will have the knowledge, skills and attributes required to develop initiatives in healthcare and make a substantial contribution to healthcare policy and development. Completion of this degree can also be a pathway into the Master of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner).
