About this course

This course is designed for pharmacists or other health care professionals who wish to expand their knowledge of complementary medicines and provide evidence-based information to their customers and patients.

The Graduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Complementary Medicines has been developed and is delivered by experts in complementary medicines, evidence-based practice, medicines information, herbal medicine, nutrition, drug interactions, ethics and law from the University of Sydney School of Pharmacy. This initiative is in response to the substantial number of Australians who are choosing to integrate complementary medicines with standard care in the overall management of their health.

This course equips pharmacists and health care professionals with the knowledge and skills required to provide evidence-based information to consumers and other health professionals about the efficacy, and safety of complementary medicines. For pharmacy owners and staff, this qualification will profile you and your business as a leader in complementary medicines information services to the community.

Delivered online for working practitioners, with just 2 days of in-person workshop attendance required per unit of study, the Graduate Certificate in Evidence-Based Complementary Medicines can be seamlessly integrated into busy lifestyles.

Course fees are payable per unit of study (4 in total), allowing students to spread the full course cost over the duration of the program. The course can be undertaken part-time within one year or over a few years.
