About this course

We will not be accepting applications for the Doctor of Juridical Studies in 2018.

The Doctor of Juridical Studies (SJD) prepares you for careers in advanced research, policy development, public service, tertiary teaching or professional leadership. The SJD will enable you to develop and acquire sophisticated skills in research and analysis, through a topic of your choice that expands legal thinking and understanding. The SJD is suitable if you do not wish to undertake a course of study exclusively by research but are looking for higher degree studies in law that extend beyond the Master of Laws by coursework. The Sydney Law School offers you the opportunity to pursue their interests in an array of major research areas including commercial law, corporate law, criminology, environmental law, family law, international law, public law and taxation.
