The Doctor of Clinical Dentistry (Periodontics) trains qualified dentists who wish to specialise in periodontics. You will develop technical skills in periodontal implants and clinical periodontics as you acquire a comprehensive understanding of the field of periodontology.

Applicants must demonstrate commitment to the particular specialty that they are applying for, such as through participation in short courses or continuing education programs aligned to that particular specialty.
Interviews and examinationAll applications will be ranked according to academic merit after the application closing date. Successfully ranked applicants will be invited to participate in an interview with the Sydney Dental School. Some specialist programs also require applicants to sit an examination as a component of the admission process.
This course prepares candidates for work in a specialist practice in periodontics, a specialist clinic in a hospital or as an academic researcher in clinical periodontics.
This course is accredited by the Australian Dental Council (ADC) and approved by the Dental Board of Australia. Graduates can apply for registration as a dental specialist with the Dental Board of Australia (AHPRA).
Please prepare two reference letters to be submitted along with your application. They must be no older than 12 months.
